The Motivating Others workshop provides dozens of practical and proven strategies for motivating people from your newest rookie to your most seasoned veteran. The workshop delivers workable tools and techniques for dozens of situations, including strategies for dealing with old-timers, new recruits, and people who you’ve been friends with for years, but you are now supervising. Come to the Motivating Others workshop and learn how to fix a wide variety of energy-draining issues in your fire department.
Learning objectives of the Motivating Others workshop
- Learn essential techniques for motivating people with very different reasons for being unmotivated.
- Distinguish temporary motivation deficits from more permanent–and more problematic–unmotivated states.
- Address motivation issues that have proven elusive in the past by linking individual behaviors to individual motivation triggers.
- Learn new ways to motivate the people you work with and the people who work for you.

About the workshop leader: Dr. Geoffrey Tumlin is the president of On-Demand Leadership and the author of Stop Talking, Start Communicating (McGraw-Hill, 2013). Geoffrey earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, and his B.S. from West Point. After graduating from West Point, Geoffrey served as an infantry officer in Hawaii. His work has appeared in over 150 media outlets and publications, including the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, Fast Company, Inc.com, SiriusXM radio, Fox Business, Investor’s Business Daily, andCNNMoney/Fortune.com, and he’s a frequent guest of fire service organizations throughout Texas.
